On Sunday March 26th, Ireland Analog will be hitting the road once again, this time heading to the West Coast of Ireland for a day trip to Galway.
For the occasion, we are proud to be partnering again with @lomographyuk for another LomoWalk!
Lomography will kindly be providing a range of 35mm cameras they are letting us borrow for the day. This will be a fantastic opportunity to get your hands on cameras you haven't tried yet. One point to note is that you will need to bring your own roll of 35mm film, these won't be supplied.
We will also need to return the camera before the end of the walk, so keep that in mind as we progress through the day.
Supplies will be limited, so depending on the amount of people and camera availability, we will be doing a random draw at the start of the walk to decide who gets a camera. Be sure you arrive on time, you wouldn't want to miss that!
We will be guided through the city by Jack (@film_fotojn), who is a local fellow film shooter from Galway.
We will be meeting at the top of Eyre Square by the The Browne Doorway at 1pm, which is a few steps away from the train and bus stations.
From there, we will walk towards Woodquay to see the old railway line that once passed over the River Corrib. We will then cross the river to take in the Galway Cathedral and make our way into the grounds of University of Galway.
Next we will follow the Canal network towards the famous Claddagh & Spanish Arch. Moving back into town, we will take in the Latin Quarter of Galway, the old traditional market, & St Nicholas Church .
Finally, we will be heading to a pub near Eyre Square around 4pm for drinks and food before heading back to Dublin. The exact location will be determined at a closer date.
Please note that like for any other events, you are responsible for your own transportation on the way to and from Galway. Most of us will be going by train or coach bus leaving from Dublin around 9am and then departing from Galway around 7pm.
As always, feel free to reach out to us ahead of time if you have any questions!
See you in a few weeks!
